Let's talk common sense

I swear some people did not come equipped with common sense.

Do people NOT pay attention to what is going on around them?

Citation #1: People down the street put their trash AND recycling out. Problem with that is, it was not our week to recycle. Did they not realize they were the only people on the entire block with a BLUE bin out? Common sense would you tell since no one else has a blue bin out, its not recycle week.

Citation #2: People down the other direction of the block have their Christmas tree at the curb. Do you see anyone else on the block with a tree at the curb. I am sure they saw the news or even listed to the radio that specifically said the City of Toledo Refuse Service was NOT picking up trees curb side, but there were however, several locations were you could drop you tree off.

Citation #3: Girls at the gym who talk on their cell phones while "working out". Seriously? Seriously. I know when I am working out I can talk, but I can not carry on a conversation. If you can carry one a conversation without having a hard time breathing, you are not working out to your full potential. Hang up the phone and kick it up a notch.

Dusting off the blog!

I've decided to get back into blogging! YEA! I know you are all so excited....I know I am.

I thought about changing the name, but I decided to keep Baby Cakes. Instead of just writing about Brendan, I decided to write about all things.

So stay tuned. As always, I have lots to talk about.

Fall pictures

I took Brendan to Toledo Botanical Garden on Sunday to get some fall pictures done.

OMG! I can not wait to see them.

Here is a sneak peek.

The pediatrician

It has been brought to my attention that my pediatrician is EXTREMELY overpriced.

As we took Brendan to his 6 month check up a few weeks ago, we received an EOB in the mail that the visit was not covered. Total office visit, $479.00. That was for 3 vaccines and a wellness checkup.

Now, Brendan is my first child and I have never discussed how much office visit cost with my other mom friends, so I had no idea it was overpriced.

B called the insurance company, come to find out that the prices the pediatrician charges are way out of the norm. So out of the norm, the insurance lady asked what exactly Brendan was having done. To date the pediatrician has billed us $1800 for 4 office visits.

So now, I am on the hunt for a new pediatrician. I think I am going to call South Toledo Pediatrics.

Sucks, because I really liked all the doctors there.

6 month check up

Ya know.... only a few weeks late.

Here are Brendan's stats.

17 pounds - 50%tile

27 inches long - 50%tile

Doctor said he looks perfect and says he is advanced for his age and is comparable to that of an 8 month old. Who know, my son the over-achiever.

Brendan's First Halloween

B could not resist this little chicken costume. I was torn between the chicken and the penguin. The chicken won.

Blogging = Fail

I apogolize for my absence and PROMISE to return to blogging.
