Hopefully tomorrow is the last of it

I have yet another dentist appointment tomorrow. This is to replace the first crown that I didn't like. wonder how bad it going to hurt take a cemented crown off. Yea, that sounds like a good time. Where do I sign?

As a follow up to my Stupid Ass Dental Insurance, which I have indeed confirmed they are stupid. I called and asked why they denied my claim. Reason: A crown over a implant is not covered. A normal crown is.

Really. Really?

What's the difference? I mean, I get the what the difference is. But why cover it one way and not another?

Water under the bridge at this point. B suggested I ask the dentist to change the code...wonder how that will go over...

Oh, and Happy Valentine's Day

The hubs and I don't celebrate Valentine's Day. He states that he doesn't need some silly little holiday to tell him to buy me something to show his love for me. If he wants to buy me something, he does. That is what true love is about. Being out somewhere and seeing something that your SO would like and you buy it just because.

While he may not be a romantic. He has a point. He is always buying things and surprising me with little goodies. He is my Valentine 365 days a year. I know I bitch and moan about him, but I do love him and all the little things he does for me. I will stop now before I get all Hallmark on you.

I'm excited. Manny's excited. And you should be too!

What are we excited for? BASEBALL!

I can.not.wait! In a recent article and tweet by Manny Acta, he says "I'm excited. "And I think we should be excited." My main squeeze, Grady Siezemore is already hitting the field.

I really hope they do better than last year with 69 wins... hell, I'd take 80. But who am I kidding. They are such a young team and 4 of the key players are coming off some type of surgery. Grady, elbow, Carlos, knee, Pronk, shoulder and Cabrera forearm (I think).

They technically don't have to report until tomorrow, but a lot of the players are already there. First Spring Training Game is 2/28.

Let's see what they have to offer this year.

Shaking my head

Do you ever have moments or days you just sit and shake your head? This seems to be my life for the last week.

I know it's a day late and a dollar short and all.over.the.web, but I have to comment on the Superbowl. Fantastic game! Christina A. How in the hell do you fuck up the national anthem? At first I thought, "did I miss something" or perhaps I wasn't really paying attention..so I had to rewind the TV. Sure enough. Wrong words! The half time show. Meh. I hate that I don't like the Black Eye Peas live. I cannot stand to listen to Fergie sing. Play it on the radio and I will butt dance with the best of them.

I also have to shake my head at my neighbors. Why do they feel the need to shovel the entire street? And why are they so obsessed with parking on the street when they have a driveway to park in? Hello, there is at least 18" of snow out there.

Brendan has been in his toddler bed for a week now. I don't think he has figured it out that he can get in and out of the bed on his own. And B thought it was too soon....

B has been sick for a complete entire week now. He has to be the biggest bellyach-er I know. I get that he is sick, and honestly I feel bad for him b/c you can just tell by looking at him he doesn't feel well...but I can do with out the constant reminder of how he doesn't feel good. Or the fact he tells me I am not sympathetic enough. Whatever...

Why can I not find the video camera cables? I found the camera cables. I have the cutest video of Brendan playing hockey in the living room. It's a must post!

Settle those good intentions

I feel like I can never finish things. I'm easily distracted for one thing. I start with good intentions and then lose focus or move onto something else. Or honestly, I've reached a point where I have just had enough and don't feel like dealing with it anymore.

And why is it that NOTHING can stay organized? I will spend a few hours organizing and then the following week, it's back to a cluttered mess.

I'm weeks months behind on printing pictures. My baby photo album that I carry in my purse is beyond outdated. It is embarrassing. Thank god I always have pictures on my cell phone.

Just the other week I was doing something in the bedroom and I noticed a white spot on the wall. That's right, I painted over the summer and I never went back and did the touch up. Summer, people! I painted that damn wall over the summer.

Two weeks ago I went thru all the pictures that were actually printed and moved them into a nice organized box. Where do you think the box is? Sitting on my bedroom floor. At least I moved it from the dining room to upstairs. Now only if I could get it to the dormer. I would be all set.

Maybe I will send Brendan and B off somewhere so I can really finish thru and settle those good intentions I started out with.

Hockey, Go Go, Good shot!

I realized I haven't talked much about Brendan lately.
I fall more in love with that little man every day.

This past weekend we took him to the bowling alley. Not so much to bowl, but my friend Joyce decided she wanted to celebrate her birthday bowling. And since there were going to be other kids there, I thought why not just take him. So Joyce let him roll of few of her bowls down the lane...her lane had bumpers. Don't ask.

And then today was the mother f'er of all days. Brendan was invited to celebrate his buddy Logan's birthday at Chuckie Cheese's. Never.Again. Ever!

While we were at CC, B stayed home and converted Brendan's crib into a toddler bed. Nap went well. Hopefully STTN will go just as well. He really seems to like it.

Brendan is also obsessed with hockey right now. The kid is bound to go pro in some sport. He literally cried the other night when the ECHL hockey game was over. I had to rewind the tv and replay it. And once again when it was over, he cried. He squeals in delight when it is on and I swear to everything holy, he he says "hockey" and he also says "good shot!" This past week he really started emphasized the "t" in shot. I know he is my kid and all, but is TOO much and SO stinking cute!

He is so smart and understands so much. He can also point out which color is blue. I can't believe that he is going to be 2 years old soon. I have already started planning his birthday party!

He likes to jump, yes, jump, gallop and run around the house like a mad man. I feel like he is obsessed with a lot of things these days. Some of his obsession are:
Hockey
Football
the Camera - thanks Merin
Cars

I'm so glad I took the summer off from working to spend time and watch him grow and learn. He is growing so fast. I also think that me being a working mom, makes me a better mom. I appreciate him more (not that I didn't before), I have more patience with him and I look forward to coming home and getting down on the floor playing cars or horsey with him.

I realize this evening, that I am not that crazy mom I thought I was going to be. I knew I was going to be a good mom...but there are certain things I am so laid back about and B FREAKS out over. I've learned that everything is washable. If it doesn't come out, ya know what, who cares. Now I have a story about why there is a giant chocolate hand print on the couch. Clothing, I buy them cheap enough to not even care if he only wears it once. If he breaks the lamp. Oh well, I will just buy a new one. I don't freak out when he doesn't eat his dinner and tango gets most of it because he thru it on the floor. I want Brendan to know there are rules and boundaries, but at the same time he needs to be a kid and develop an explore.

I try to find a good balance between everything, but in the end, my housework is what suffers most. I wouldn't trade any of it. When Brendan lays down and pats on the floor and says "more" how can I resist that? I mean, what would you rather do? Laundry or play hot wheels? I know it won't last forever and there will come a time when he hates me and wants nothing to do with me.

This is Peanut Butter. He ate it straight from the PB "on the go" cup that he took out of my lunchbox.

Stupid Ass Dental Insurance

I don't even know where to begin. Yes, I do. My Dental insurance sucks balls.

The denied any coverage of my crowns. Reason being: It's not a necessity. Really? Since when did having a healthy mouth not become a necessity? Really, having a full set of teeth isn't necessary.

I really need to cool down before I call these people.

Before I left the dentist this morning and shelled money out of my pocket to cover the luxury item, they were kind enough to look up our file b/c I told the lady that B had a crown put on a few years back. Yup, sure enough he did. The insurance company adjusted it and paid majority of it.

So I ask you this. WTF is so special about B, that he gets his crown paid for and I don't?

ARGH!

Not only do I have that working against me today, the crown they put on two weeks needs to be redone. There is a nice size gap at the bottom between the two teeth and I have to floss every single time I eat. Don't get me wrong, I floss. But it's not so attractive when you are sitting at your desk and someone walks in to ask you a question and you got the floss going on. At least I have good dental hygiene. And I figure if I am paying this out of my own pocket, I better be pretty damn happy with it.

So, I go back in three weeks for round #4. But at this stage in the game, who is keeping track?
